β€œTo me, storytelling is an inherent aspect of human nature, and a built in function of our communication. This idea is the basis of my artistic practice. Fascinated by our endless work of spinning stories, I use expressive oil painting in restrained compositions to engage in fantasy as a visual practice.

My practice takes inspiration from the mediaeval bestiary, and the way in which it portrayed the fantastical as a distant reality, I have been utilising its campy aesthetics and intricate symbology to investigate the role that beasts play in my life, and my connection to the realm of fantasy. Creating my very own book of beasts.

In investigating the nature of fantasy and the unknown, I seek to understand why it is that people have long been so enraptured by realms beyond our own. "
